Slaughter, Heat, IKON and some CX dreaming

Headed down to the Slaughter Pen Jam sat with G-Wiz to rip it up with some new blood in Bentonville, AR. I have been wanting to hit this one for the last 3 years but things just never worked out schedule wise, this time around it's on and we roll out 8:30am. A few familiars will be down there but mostly this will be a lot of folks we don't get to race against which is nice, I am hoping for a big turnout of fast guys and some dry weather. Nice thing is it's cooler down there then it is here in KC. These last few days over 100 are stupid, it's Sept and all I want to do is go race CX soon but this heat...

SPJ is supposed to be a really cool race that starts in town and rips off 3 nine mile laps with lots of small rock and babyheads and some sharper shale just to keep you riding clean (or fixing flats). Mounting up the new Maxxis IKON with the EXO sidewalls. I raced on these a few times and have to say they are my favorite tire right now. Huge tall tires (2.2) much like the conti race king that roll very very fast and have surprising grip in the corners and climbs, heck they even stop well (not that I stop often but it's nice to be able to quickly when you need to!) and are very light.

Karen is racing her first cross country race tomorrow with the varsity squad of super fast girls from Lees Summit West, she runs @ 10am over at Longview college. Good luck girl!

Speaking of CX racing there is a lot coming up this year. Just registered for the opener @ Herman which has a team competition this year and it's gonna be a junk yard brawl in the open race for sure. Jingle Cross Rock reg is open so need to jump on that ASAP as well.

Here are the races so far and no way I am racing them all, planned ones for K-Rocket and I are yellow.
